How to use Google Webmaster Tools
I noticed that people are finding my site using the search function to search "how to use Google Webmaster Tools", so I thought that after the guide I use it weekly to check the health of my sites.
Web crawl errors
At the opening of Google Webmaster Tools, I choose the site. If you do this, the first thing you see on the Diagnostic tab, with its overview of the latest Web crawl errors Google encountered. This is the first thing I check, because it provides very important data about the current state of the object. If you have a lot of you the URL, which either were not found, inaccessible, or waiting time should be paid to these and fix them. URL, he found may be due to that reference you make a mistake when entering the URL. You can either ask people to change this URL, if you know someone refers to you, like it or 301 pages, Google will not find them on the correct page. Do not forget to check out all the errors and make sure you select all of the URL, to see what happens.
Scanning Speed
The second thing I look at this scanning speed, connected in the left menu under Tools. On this page you want to see this field:
You want to be sure that Google does not want to crawl your site faster if that happens, you can put it quickly. If so, although it is likely that your visitors do not have a fast site either. So you want to speed up your server, or to obtain a hosting provider, to accelerate it.
Above these windows a review of Google was in the last 90 days. Check out graphs, which are hidden under the link, and make sure that the number of pages crawled per day, and the number of kilobytes downloaded per day, does not decrease dramatically, but do not flatter yourself a little downward movement. You also want to make sure that the Google crawler spends time loading pages "stable."
Statistics
Statistics tab next tab. When you open this, the first thing you will see the table "PageRank your pages in Google", as well as a table showing the page with the highest PageRank, during the last 3 months. I do not think that these data are very interesting, especially because that PageRank is only displayed as high, medium, low or "not yet assigned. If these things change significantly, though, and you did not expect them to change, you may want to look at your IBL in.
Something else in that tab is much more interesting, though, you might collect data with other instruments. In the section "Page analysis, there are two tables showing the general words as to the content of your site, and common words in external links to your site. If you believe that the anchor text to link to your website is a very important factor in your rankings, you understand that this is an important chart to look at. Any word that you are targeting that are not there? Maybe you should think about the strategy of building the link again ...
Links tab
tab, in my opinion, the best information in Google Webmaster Tools for SEO is the link tab. This shows an overview of all pages on your site, where Google found a link, and the number of links he found on these pages. Clicking on the number next to the URL of the page shows a specific page Google found a link to this page on. If you use the extension I created, Google Webmaster Tools External links + +, you'll also get anchor text links and PageRank for the page containing the link to you.
I use these data regularly check the links that Google has indexed and how many links I gathered with my new tools link bait action, etc.
Conclusion
If you are using Google Webmaster Tools, as it regularly, you will be aware of any (indexing) problems with your site over time and have a full understanding of how to make your site. Make sure to add to your normal weekly!
